Purpose
Named after Michael J. McAleer, Co-Founder and Distinguished Fellow of IETI, Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia, and Honorary Professor of the University of Sydney, the award recognizes scientists who have produced fundamental, original, and high-impact work at the intersection of economics, management, mathematics, statistics, and artificial intelligence, and encourages excellence in cross-disciplinary research.

Categories
Up to three winners may be selected per category each year (categories may be vacant). Nominations are open globally.

Distinguished Scientist Award
· Eligibility: ≥ 20 years of active research experience and recognized as an international authority.
· Criterion: A seminal theory or method that shifts the paradigm and exerts wide influence.

Outstanding Scientist Award
· Eligibility: ≥ 10 years since completion of Ph.D., with an established independent research profile.
· Criterion: A series of high-quality innovations that solve key scientific problems in the interdisciplinary field.

Young Scientist Award
· Eligibility: ≤ 10 years since completion of Ph.D.
· Criterion: Original ideas or methods evidenced by high-level papers, demonstrating exceptional potential.

PhD Student Award
· Eligibility: Enrolled full-time PhD student
· Criterion: Novel methodologies via high-impact publications, with outstanding research competence.

Master Student Award
· Eligibility: Enrolled full-time Master student
· Criterion: Improved methods via high-quality papers, with notable academic potential.

Timeline
· Nomination deadline: 30 September
· Announcement: by 30 November

Submission Requirements
· Three representative publications
· Two peer reference letters
· Curriculum vitae
· One-sentence award justification (≤ 30 words)
