In February 2026, Associate Professor Oscar Karnalim, recipient of the IETI Michael E. Auer Young Scientists Award and former Dean at Maranatha Christian University, Indonesia, was promoted to Vice Rector, overseeing Academic and Research affairs.

Oscar Karnalim earned his Master's degree from Institut Teknologi Bandung (Bandung Institute of Technology) in 2014 and his Ph.D. in Information Technology from the University of Newcastle, Australia, in 2022. In August 2025, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to software engineering, educational technology, and artificial intelligence, he received the 4th IETI Michael E. Auer Young Scientists Award, named after IETI President Michael E. Auer. In February 2026, he was selected as a Distinguished Lecturer for the IEEE Education Society (2026–2027 term). He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Educational Technology Systems, published by Sage.
