
December 4th 2025, the International Engineering and Technology Institute (IETI) officially announced the Laureate of the 2026 4th IETI Ramesh Agarwal Lifetime Achievement Award in Science, Engineering or Technology: Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Fellow of Pakistan Academy of Sciences, Recipient of the Friendship Award of the Chinese Government, Recipient of the China International Science and Technology Cooperation Award, Recipient of the Highest National Award of Pakistan (Hilal-i-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Imtiaz, Nishan-i-Imtiaz), Former President of Pakistan Academy of Sciences, Former Federal Minister of Education, Former Federal Minister of Science and Technology of Pakistan, Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS), Honorary Professor of the University of Karachi, and Fellow of Kings College, University of Cambridge Professor Atta-ur-Rahman.
This award is conferred in recognition of his outstanding achievements in natural products chemistry over decades, his exceptional leadership in establishing a world-class research institution, and his remarkable academic influence as one of the world’s highly cited researchers. It is worth noting that Professor Atta-ur-Rahman was also recently elected Distinguished Fellow of IETI in 2025.
