Laureate Distinguished Fellows
Awarded by the Executive Committee, composed of Distinguished Fellows, Fellows, and top experts. Self-nominations will not be considered.
Requirements:
1) Nobel Prize, Fields Medal, Turing Award, Wolf Prize, or other leading award laureates;
2) A positive attitude toward IETI activities;
3) Five recommendation letters from IETI Fellows, or publication of two papers in IETI journals or conferences, or equivalent volunteer service to the institute (details subject to institute interpretation).
Distinguished Fellows
Awarded by the Executive Committee, composed of Distinguished Fellows, Fellows, and top experts. Self-nominations will not be considered.
Requirements:
1) Demonstrated accomplishments that have significantly advanced or applied engineering and technology across disciplines, creating substantial value for society;
2) University Distinguished Professor (permanent, full-time for at least two years), or holder of a prestigious international elected fellowship, international awards, senior positions in international societies, and publications in leading international journals;
3) A positive attitude toward IETI activities;
4) Five recommendation letters from IETI Fellows, or publication of two papers in IETI journals or conferences, or equivalent volunteer service to the institute (details subject to institute interpretation).
Fellows
Awarded by the Executive Committee, composed of Distinguished Fellows, Fellows, and top experts. Self-nominations will not be considered.
Requirements:
1) Demonstrated accomplishments that have significantly advanced or applied engineering and technology across disciplines, creating substantial value for society;
2) University Full Professor (permanent, full-time for at least two years), or senior positions in prestigious international societies and publications in leading international journals; if you are not a full professor, at least associate professor for five years and one paper published for us;
3) A positive attitude toward IETI activities;
4) Five recommendation letters from IETI Fellows, or publication of one paper in IETI journals or conferences, or equivalent volunteer service to the institute (details subject to institute interpretation).
Members
Awarded by the Secretary-General/Co-Founders.
Requirements:
1) A positive attitude toward IETI activities;
2) Normally open to those who are employed;
3) Five recommendation letters from IETI Fellows, or publication of one paper in IETI journals or conferences, or equivalent volunteer service to the institute (details subject to institute interpretation);
4) If you do not hold a PhD, two papers (or equivalent service), or participation in two conferences, or equivalent volunteer service to the institute (details subject to institute interpretation) is required.
Student Members
Awarded by the Secretary-General/Co-Founders.
Requirements:
1) A positive attitude toward IETI activities;
2) Normally open to bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD students;
3) Five recommendation letters from IETI Fellows, or publication of one paper in IETI journals or conferences, or equivalent volunteer service to the institute (details subject to institute interpretation).

Note:
1) Fellows (Laureate Distinguished, Distinguished and Fellows) are elected once per year, while Members (including Student Members) may be added at any time.
2) Once elected, the status is normally held for life; however, IETI reserves the right to revoke membership in cases of serious research misconduct or other detrimental publicity. The definitive list of qualifying IETI journals, conferences, and acceptable volunteer activities—and their equivalent weight—is decided and explained by IETI alone.
3) These rules apply to all IETI members, including those of its subdivisions (Societies, Chapters, Branches, etc.).
Medal:
Excellent members or fellows will receive a medal from us; for example, those who have published five additional papers or completed more than five volunteer services for IETI. The production schedule, as well as the exact date and location of medal presentation, shall be determined and explained by IETI.
Call for New Fellows
Submit:
1) A brief statement (≤400 words) describing the nominee’s outstanding contributions to the advancement or application of engineering and technology across disciplines and the significant value created for society.
2) Complete CV and short bio (≤400 words). The CV must verify University Full Professorship (permanent, full-time for at least two years), senior positions in prestigious international societies, and publications in leading international journals.
3) Future plans and specific support for IETI.
4) Five recommendation letters from IETI Fellows, or publication of one paper in IETI journals or conferences, or equivalent volunteer service to the institute (details subject to institute interpretation).
Once a year on 31 December we publish the fellows list; please submit your materials by 30 September. Each fellow will then receive a certificate.
