Dr. Zahid H. Siddiqui is presently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Tabuk, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He did his graduation from Delhi University and obtained his master's and Ph.D. from Hamdard University, New Delhi. Recently, he received an "Excellence Award for the II Best Faculty Member in the Faculty of Science" for the Academic Year 2020-2021, awarded by the Faculty of Science, University of Tabuk, KSA. He is also honored with the "Environmentalist of the Year Award 2020", awarded by NESA, New Delhi, India. He is a recipient of the President Award in Scouting, and scholarships including CSIR-SRF of Government of India. Being a Plant Biotechnologist and an Ecologist, he has an interest in conservation biology, secondary metabolite production, and pollution-related studies. He has published a number of research papers and reviews in journals of international repute and Co-authored a book entitled “Basics of Environmental Science”. He also reviews national and international research journals of high impact factors with impeccable face value. Before moving to Tabuk University, he worked at Delhi University for almost four years. He was a Principle Investigator in an Innovation project (2013-2015), funded by the Research Council and Innovation Desk, the University of Delhi to assess the cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of Yamuna water in the Delhi region by plant-based bioassay. Presently he is carrying forward the same theme on the local water body of Tabuk in two separate projects and exploring the plants for better tolerance of abiotic stress and environmental pollution. Moreover, he is actively engaged to develop research facilities at the University of Tabuk.
