Dr. Antonietta Elia, is Senior Research and Teaching Fellow in Law at University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain), where she is also an Associate Faculty Member of the Master in International Studies. She has been recently invited as Visiting Professor of International Human Rights Law at China Youth University of Political Sciences in Beijing (China) for the next academic year.
Her academic relationship with University of Santiago de Compostela started in 2012, as Visiting Post-Doctoral Fellow and during the current academic year she has been appointed as Adjunct Professor of Comparative Constitutional Law (delivered in English) at Pontifical University Comillas in Madrid. She held different positions, like as Adjunct Professor of International Law at University of Rome III and in 2012-2013 she has been Guest Lecturer of International Law at University of Minho (Portugal). Actively engaged in teaching and research, she has been selected speaker at many international conferences held in Spain, Portugal, Poland, The Netherlands, Belgium, Slovenia, US, China, Chile, Switzerland, Turkey. She has been scientific advisor for the recently published book Promoting Global Peace and Civic Engagement through Education (IGI Global), and the World Conference of Public Health Association since 2013.
Further to the academic interdisciplinary background, Dr. Elia has been also legal intern respectively with the International Commission of Jurists (Geneva), the Former Delegation of the EU Commission to UN (Geneva), and the UN Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights (Geneva).
Actively engaged at international level, Dr.Elia is member of the ACUNS, ISA, AEPDIRI. Her research and teaching interests include the development of human rights law, both at normative and institutional level. Her last work on the definition of fair trial by the UN Human Rights Committee has been published into the Vol. 22 of the Anuario Hispano Luso Americano de Derecho Internacional.
