Dr Panagiotis V. Tsaklis is a full Professor of Biomechanics and Ergonomics at the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Thessaly, Greece. He is a Visiting Professor at the 3rd Orthopaedic Clinic of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, at the “Papageorgiou” General Hospital. Since 2017, he's an appointed Research associate/Anknuten at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery at the Karolinska Institutet, Sweden.
By training, he holds a BSc in Physiotherapy (ATEITH, 1987) and a BSc on Physical Education and Sports Sciences (Democritus Univ of Thrace, 1991). He named a PhD on Exercise Biology, from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2001). He was a PostDoctoral researcher (postDoc studies fellowship) at the Karolinska Institutet Sweden, on the field of Biomechanics and Motor Control (2005-2006). He was trained on "Tissue Engineering" at the department HST – Harvard Medical School & MIT (2007). He served as a senior researcher and lecturer at the departments NVS & Public Health Sciences of Karolinska Institutet (2005-2009). He was a appointed Visiting Scientist at the Dept of Mechanical Engineering (Bioengineering) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (ΜΙΤ) (2008-2012) and he’s member of the Harvard Medical School Post Graduate association.
Prof Tsaklis has a rich portfolio of publications, also teaching and research, on the field of Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, ergonomics and rehabilitation. He participates as a courses coordinator in 4 M.Sc programs and has supervised many B.Sc, M.Sc and PhD thesis.
