Professor Kelvin Joseph Bwalya is based at the School of Consumer Intelligence and Information Systems, Department for Information and Knowledge Management, University of Johannesburg. He has a PhD in Information Management (University of Johannesburg), Masters of Computer Science (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology – KAIST) and Bachelors in Electronics and Electrical Power Engineering (Moscow Power Engineering Technical University). He is also a member of the Board of Directors – Mosi-o-Tunya University of Science and Technology (MUST). Kelvin is also a PhD supervisor and member of the Board of Exams at various universities around the world. He has supervised 5 PhDs to completion, several Masters and undergraduate projects. Kelvin has examined 24 PhD Dissertations from 9 universities in Africa and abroad and several Masters Theses. By end of 2017, he had already published 7 academic and research books and over 100 pieces of peer reviewed articles and has also managed numerous research funds. He is also a member of various professional bodies and editorial teams. He is busy researching on disruptive technologies, cloud and fog computing, big data and predictive analytics, data genomics, spatial-temporal data modelling, competitive intelligence, database design, m-Government, open governance data, etc. Kelvin is actively pushing for establishing himself as a quality assurance expert on higher education in the SADC region.
