Lola Geraldes Xavier has a postdoctoral degree from the University of Coimbra (Portugal). She holds a PhD in Literature, by the University of Aveiro (Portugal), she has a Master Degree in Portuguese Literature by the Faculty of Arts of the University of Coimbra; she has a postgraduate degree in African and Diaspora Literatures and Cultures and she is graduated in Modern Languages and Literatures, branch of educational training, from the University of Coimbra.
She co-organized and published books about Portuguese-language literatures and on teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language. She has published several articles in international scientific journals and presented papers at various International Conferences in the domains of Portuguese Language, Portuguese as a Foreign Language, Contemporary Portuguese Literature, Comparative Literature and Brazilian and African Literatures of Portuguese-speaking countries.
Lola participated in dozens of academic juries (PhD/Master’s Degree) and supervised and co-supervised dozens of academic works.
She is a full member of the Research Center for Portuguese Literature, of the University of Coimbra, and a contributing member of the Center for Languages and Cultures, of the University of Aveiro (Portugal).
As an Associate Professor of the Coimbra Polytechnic Institute (Portugal), she was director of the Programme in Basic Education and she was Teacher Training.
Currently, she is a full Professor at the Macao Polytechnic Institute, where she has been working since 2015, first at the Portuguese Language and Research Center and now at the School of Languages and Translation, where she is Coordinator of the Portuguese Programme.
Since she arrived in Macao, she gave some teaching training on Portuguese as a Foreign Language at some Universities of People’s Republic of China.
